Week 8 Email: Biking and Rain 🌧️

And just like that another busy week here in south Auckland πŸ”₯πŸ”₯ This week I had exchanges with one of the Samoen Elders that lives in our Flat. It was really cool to visit his ward and meet some of the members.  One of the members even said if I came back before I left the area he would give me one of his Samoen battle swords πŸ—‘πŸ‡ΌπŸ‡Έ which was really cool.  The Samoen elders that me and my companion share a flat with have been needing the car a lot this week that meant that me and my companion biked a ton.  Because we had a lot of appointments that were all around the area we biked so much everyday. On top of that it was pouring rain almost all day everyday 🌧. On Sunday me and my companion were crossing a marsh to get to another neighborhood to go visit some members and as we were crossing this marsh my companion's bike started sinking to the point were it was fully under the water. Because it was at least a mile to get around the river I had to cross the river too.  Soaking wet, we biked about 3 miles out to the middle of nowhere to meet with an inactive member who needed a blessing. Once we got there we gave the man a priesthood blessing and he got very emotional and started talking about how he wanted to start coming back church and he had this 2 foot long Maori beard that he had us cut off and was telling us that he wanted to make changes before coming back to church.  Despite the bad parts of the week we were still able to see the miracles. As a missionary this has given me a new perspective that even when things seem really hard and you think that something is in bad timing remember that everything is on the lord's timing and that if you trust in the lord with all of your heart, might, mind and strength you will receive blessings and even see miracles.  I hope you all have a great week and thank you all for the support!!
